Architect Leadership

This seminar explores personal leadership skills, as well as the role of architects as leaders in their communities and their profession. The session examines the various leadership roles of architects and provides resources to develop personal leadership plans.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify the traits and attributes of leaders – the foundation on which productive, positive leadership is built.
• Recognize the unique civic leadership strengths of the architecture profession and the ability of architects to discover new tools for designing new solutions for complex public policy issues.
• Recount stories of how architects have demonstrated leadership over the years by effectively using their professional and personal skills to engage communities and build consensus in support of public policies for the benefit of society.
• Understand the importance of creating a personal leadership plan to guide career decisions and goals.
